The eyepiece optics include aspherics to reduce 'barrelling' in the margins of the field of view and give a 'flat-field' view. Using just one aspherical lens eliminates the need for three corrective lenses, further reducing the weight. The twist-up eyecups have four click-stops and the diopter setting on the right hand eyepiece is lockable to avoid any unintentional movement during use.
Aside from the optics, Minox has added a 'first' with its innovative QCF (Quick Close Focussing) which now makes it possible to take exact readings from a distance scale on the focussing wheel, an often looked for feature on binoculars.
