Minox Porro Prism Binoculars.

Despite accepted quality in performance, Porro-prism binoculars have tended to be a little out of favour in recent years. However, with a porro design often outperforming the equivalent roof prism in terms of image brightness, three-dimensional viewing and clarity, Minox are seeking to put performance ahead of the more popular and smaller roof prism design.

The 8x44 and 10x44 Minox BP have an exceptional light transmission of 94.5 percent, as less light is lost through reflection on the way to the eye than with an equivalent roof prism and an enhanced three-dimensional effect of the object in view thanks to the increased objective lens spacing of the porro design.

A Porro-prism design historically implied increased weight and larger overall dimensions than roof prisms but these new binoculars from Minox weigh-in under 800g and measure a reasonably compact 126x183x52mm while still having a metal body housing and full rubber armouring. A brand new internal focusing system is used for the first time in these Minox Porro binoculars which allows them to be fully waterproof down to a depth of 5m. They are also 'State-of-the-Art' Argon gas purged to ensure against any internal fogging during rapid temperature fluctuations.

The large oversized focusing wheel incorporates the individual eye diopter compensation setting which, once set for the user's eyes, can be safely locked. Thanks to a long eye relief, those wearing glasses can also enjoy the full field of view as they are fitted with twist-up eyecups with click stops.

The new Minox 8x44 and 10x44 BP porros come complete with a neoprene neck strap, rainguard, leather case and 30 year guarantee.
