The NEW Minox Windwatch Pro 2
(WW Pro 2) features a very wide range of functions, all of which can be very important for walkers, climbers, mountain bike riders and those engaging in a wide range of other outdoor activities to keep them fully informed as to the past, current and possible future weather conditions they are likely to experience.
The basic features of the WW Pro 2 are a wind meter which measures windspeed in mph, km/h, knots and m/s and a thermometer measuring in Celcius or Fahrenheit. The windspeed measurement is precise to 0.1m/s and up to a maximum speed of 40 m/s while the temperature range is from -20 to 55 degrees Celcius. A combination of these 2 measurements gives the user a reading for the effect of 'wind-chill'.
A barometer and altimeter takes the technology of the WW Pro 2 one step further and enables the user to find out air pressure over the past 16 hours and their height above sea level. The air pressure is measured in millibars / kPa or in/Hg and the altitude in meters or feet.
The final piece of technology to be included in the WW Pro 2 is a highly accurate humidity sensor, allowing it to determine the dewpoint (condensation of humidity) - which is considered an important indicator for the forecast of haze, fog or clouds.
Measuring just 11.9x5.8x1.9cm the MINOX Windwatch Pro II is a real lightweight and weighs in at only 67gms. It is weatherproof making it reliable when out in poor weather. The body has been designed to enhance both ease of operation and ergonomic handling when taking measurements. A slider protects the sensors when they are not in use and serves as an On/Off switch.
